Expanding my portfolio while working as a Social Videographer for the Big Ten Conference Gymnastics Championships in Ann Arbor, MI.
Over two separate weekends, I was responsible for capturing and delivering short-form video content in real time for the Big Ten’s social media platforms. This included filming athlete walk-ins, routines, and behind-the-scenes moments, then editing and delivering clips on-site for use across TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter.
Working under tight turnaround times taught me how to streamline my workflow—shooting intentionally, editing quickly, and maintaining consistency in tone and branding. I also gained valuable experience navigating a live championship environment, collaborating with social and media teams, and adapting to the unique demands of covering a sport I hadn’t worked with before.
This experience reinforced the importance of staying flexible, being detail-oriented in high-pressure settings, and delivering content that’s both timely and engaging.
